Supporting the Next Generation of Geomatics Professionals

At Challenger Geomatics, we believe the future of our industry lies in the hands of the next generation of Geomatics professionals; students who are not only curious and driven, but also eager to get their boots muddy, push technical boundaries, and make meaningful contributions to Canada’s land, infrastructure, and communities.

That’s why we created the Challenger Geomatics Scholarship Program. It’s a way for us to invest in emerging leaders who will shape the future of surveying, mapping, and geospatial science in Canada. Each year, we award five scholarships of $3,000 to post-secondary students across the country who demonstrate academic dedication, grit in the field, and a real passion for a career in Geomatics.

But our support doesn’t stop at financial aid. We see these scholarships as the first step in a much bigger journey, from student to professional, from learning in the classroom to leading in the field.

Why We Created the Challenger Geomatics Scholarships

Geomatics is evolving rapidly, and so is the demand for skilled professionals. From legal surveys to drone mapping, LiDAR scanning, and remote sensing for renewable energy projects, surveyors today are combining traditional field expertise with cutting-edge technology.

We know that the pathway into this profession can be challenging. Tuition, equipment, and relocation costs can all be barriers for students, especially those coming from remote areas. Our scholarships are designed to help bridge that gap. Offering more than money, but an invitation to join a community of professionals who believe in mentorship, training, and meaningful work.
