Project Summary:

Geomatics support of our associate companies on Pre-investment Studies for World Bank Guyana Conservancy Adaptation Project. The project development objective of the Conservancy Adaptation Project (CAP) is to reduce the vulnerability of catastrophic flooding in the Guyana low-lying coastal area that is currently threatened by sea level rise resulting from global climate change. This project has been developed to guide a comprehensive upgrading program of the East Demerara Water Conservancy (EDWC) and lowland drainage system, aimed at increasing discharge capacity and improving water level management.

  • First Order GPS Control Surveys to strengthen Guyana's control network.
  • GPS Control Surveys for LIDAR and Air photo acquisition.
  • Supervision of LIDAR and Air Photo acquisition.
  • Bathymetry surveys for the various channels, canals and waterways within the East Demerara Water Conservancy, one of the major conservancy systems in Guyana.
  • Transect surveys including depth measurements of approximately 550 hectares of the East Demerara Water Conservancy.
  • Outlet Structure surveys including as builts.
  • Leveling of the various hydrological equipment installed for the monitoring of Conservancy flows and depths.
  • Processing of all data in the formats compatible for modeling of the entire drainage system.
  • Workshops to demonstrate the various technologies used to capture all the data required for the project.
